The UN aviation body details ‘downside risks’ from COVID-19 headwinds in its latest global airline forecast.

The tie-up comes as LATAM Airlines Group anticipates restoring 72% of pre-pandemic capacity in January.

American, Delta and United have all been forced by the CAAC to temporarily suspend routes to China.

The carrier says its long-term focus is on rebuilding and growing its international network.

The move follows a similar capacity cut by Virgin Australia.

Major carriers say they are being forced to fly low load-factor flights to maintain airport slots. 

The CAAC is also forcing the cancellation of US-to-China flights by American, United and Chinese airlines under its COVID-19 testing rule.

The airline is dropping nine domestic routes and one international service.
