Global Aviation Technologies in Wichita has received FAA approval to add the King Air B300 Series aircraft to its repair station certificate for aircraft maintenance, the company said. Global Aviation provides maintenance support for Hawker 4000, Learjet and Challenger aircraft. Since its inception, the maintenance division has maintained a 100% on-time delivery rating with zero squawks on all customer deliveries, it said.
TAG Aviation Spain has become the first Spanish operator to receive approval to fly the Required Navigation Performance (RNP1) flight paths. The regulatory approval was awarded to TAG Aviation by the Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency. It is a requirement for certain flight path designations out of the country. As part of the application process, the flight center had to ensure all private aircraft in use are compliant with RNP operations and that appropriate procedures, documentation and training are in place.
True Blue Power in Wichita is supplying new TB44 45 amp lithium ion batteries to Textron AirLand for use on the Scorpion Jet, a tactical aircraft designed for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and other missions. The battery uses proprietary Nanophosphate lithium-ion cell chemistry and delivers twice as much energy per kilogram compared to lead acid or NiCad alternatives, it said.
Rockwell Collins’ Pro Line Fusion avionics system has been selected by Havacilik Teknolojileri Anonim Sirketi (TRJet) for its new TRJ328 aircraft and TRP328 turboprop with first deliveries in 2020. Rockwell Collins will collaborate with Turkish companies for production, support and training opportunities.
Mitsubishi Aircraft has named Pemco World Air Services as a preferred maintenance, repair and overhaul service provider of MRJ aircraft. Mitsubishi and Pemco will offer airframe-related MRO services to North American MRJ customers.
Signature Flight Support has begun operations at the fixed base operation formerly operated by Airborne Aviation at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, New York, bringing the Signature network to 200 global locations. Operations began July 7.
Flight Calibration Services has signed a firm order with Diamond Aircraft for its second DA62, a month after it accepted delivery of its first DA62. The company has grown more than 30% a year over the past few years, it said. The DA 62 will support that growth.
Safran Helicopter Engines and Hindustan Aeronautics have agreed to establish a support center in India for national and international rotorcraft customers, The venture will open in the coming months, it said. The center will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for Safran TM333 and HAL Shakti engines installed on HAL-built helicopters with plans to enlarge the business to include other engines. The joint venture is part of a “Made-in-India” initiative.
MB Aerospace has completed its acquisition of Vac Aero, based in Poland, from its parent company, Vac Aero International in Canada, the company said. The business employs more than 100 workers at two sites in Kalisz and Rzeszow, Poland, and specializes in coatings for aero-engine and industrial gas turbine components.
Dassault Aviation Airplanes [Docket No. FAA-2016-3987; Directorate Identifier 2015-NM-165-AD; Amendment 39-18580; AD 2016-13-15] The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Dassault Aviation Model Falcon 7X airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of improperly drilled bores, located on upper and lower stiffener joints to the Web at a certain frame. This AD requires a one-time inspection of the bores and repair if necessary. The FAA is issuing this AD to detect and correct an unsatisfactory bore that can adversely affect the structural integrity of the airplane.
Beechcraft Corporation (Type Certificate Previously Held by Hawker Beechcraft Corporation; Raytheon Aircraft Company) Airplanes [Docket No. FAA-2016-0460; Directorate Identifier 2015-NM-078-AD; Amendment 39-18577; AD 2016-13-13] The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Beechcraft Corporation Model BAe.125 Series 1000A and 1000B airplanes and Model Hawker 1000 airplanes. This AD was prompted by reports of inadvertent stowage of the thrust reversers, which can result in high forward engine thrust even though the throttle is commanding reverse thrust.
Pacific Aerospace Limited Airplanes [Docket No. FAA-2016-5578; Directorate Identifier 2016-CE-005-AD; Amendment 39-18587; AD 2016-14-06] The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2006-13-05 for certain Pacific Aerospace Limited Model 750XL (type certificate previously held by Pacific Aerospace Corporation Ltd.) airplanes. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product.
Bombardier, Inc. Airplanes Challenger 600 Series Aircraft [Docket No. FAA-2015-8129; Directorate Identifier 2014-NM-197-AD; Amendment 39-18573; AD 2016-13-09] The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Bombardier, Inc. Model CL-600-2B16 (CL-604 Variant) airplanes. This AD was prompted by a determination that certain maintenance tasks for the horizontal stabilizer trim actuator (HSTA) are inadequate. This AD requires revising the maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new airworthiness limitations for the HSTA.

Bombardier Aerospace will celebrate 20 years of Safety Standdown Sept. 27-29 in Wichita. Registration is now open. The seminar, focused on increasing aviation safety, is free to aviation professionals. General sessions will take place in the mornings, with workshops in the afternoons. This year the workshops are shortened, so attendees may attend two workshops per day.
