The U.S. airline industry will likely see growth of more than 15% in April's domestic mainline unit revenue, Merrill Lynch analyst Michael Linenberg says. Spirit Airlines this summer plans to launch new twice daily non-stop service from its Detroit hub to Boston. The service starts Aug. 15 and will be operated with Airbus A319s in a two-class configuration. "This market is ripe for a lower fare alternative," said Chief Marketing Officer Barry Biffle. Spirit will have its hands full competing with rival Northwest, which has scheduled eight daily flights between the cities this summer.

AirLiance is opening a site in Florida dedicated to engine products and plans to move its Chicago headquarters to another location in the city.
