While China and Russia will likely continue to strengthen their ties in certain areas, China will probably refrain from any deals with its neighbor that will cause possible rifts with the U.S., says Bonnie Glaser, senior Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) adviser for Asia. “The Chinese really don’t want tension with their relationship with the U.S.,” Glaser says. China and Russia have been developing a closer relationship lately, and CSIS officials see that continuing in specific areas. For example, Glaser noted Jan.
