A total of 61 helicopter accident investigation reports involving an autorotation are contained in the NTSB’s accident database for 2016 and 2017. Thirteen of the 61 accidents occurred during autorotation training in this two-year period. One accident resulted in a fatality. All of the other accidents involved non-fatal injuries.
