From The Archives: Twin Otter Boosts Hot Climate Capability
Increased engine power would be installed in the de Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter STOL transport, which was under development, to boost its hot weather capability and improve chances of off-the-shelf sales to the military, David A. Brown reported.
The aircraft will be the first to have United Aircraft of Canada, Ltd., PT6-A20 engines and later models of the Twin Otter may be able to accept the PT6-A21 version of the engine.
