From The Archives: S-62 Slated For Full Production In 1961

Sikorsky Aircraft planned to have its turbine-powered S-62 utility helicopter in large-scale production in 1961.

This article from 1958 shows images of the design of the helicopter from the front, side and above and explained that a fourth rotorblade could be added which would mean revising the gear arrangement.

See also images of the cockpit and cabin which was designed to accommodate 10-12 passengers.

One image shows the v-shaped bottom of the fuselage which would cushion impact when settling on water.
