Sheltair Aviation broke ground on a new hangar and office facility at Tampa International Airport (TPA) with completion expected in the fourth quarter (Q4) 2025.

The facility is being built to address growing demand for business aviation storage and aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services at TPA, according to Sheltair. It will feature 50,880 ft.² of hangar space and 8,344 ft.² of office and shop space and include an advanced tail door to accommodate large aircraft, such as the Boeing Business Jet (BBJ).

“At Sheltair, we constantly strive to enhance our facilities and services to better serve our customers,” says Sheltair President and CEO Lisa Holland. “We look forward to welcoming our tenants and guests to this exceptional new facility in 2025.”

Additionally, the construction includes an approximately 50,000 ft.² apron area for aircraft maneuvering, refueling and staging. In all, the entire facility will encapsulate 110,000 ft.² at the Tampa airport.

“Tampa International Airport has seen sustained growth in general aviation over the past few years, and our partners at Sheltair have been working hard to keep up with the demand for private aircraft services,” TPA CEO Joe Lopano says.

According to Sheltair, the new construction will bring Sheltair’s total hangar count at TPA to 11.
