EAA is On
EAA AirVenture 2021 remains on the schedule as a live event in July in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, although some areas of the show may look different than in previous years, say organizers. The event, sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association, has “countless moving parts” in the best of times. But a return after the cancellation of the 2020 show “raises expectations regarding health and safety measures in planning this year’s event,” organizers say. The show is scheduled for July 26–Aug. 1. Last year’s show was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Changes To Expect
EAA AirVenture will have fewer exhibitors in each indoor exhibit building with more walkways and separation between exhibitors and increased ventilation inside tents and indoor facilities. Some annual events where physical distancing is not possible have been canceled for 2021. They include the Monday night concert, Young Eagles, EAA Lifetime Member, International Visitors dinner, Runway 5K run/walk and large corporate events and receptions.

Forum Format
High-demand forums, such as this Women in Aviation luncheon, and presentations will be held more than once to allow for distancing by attendees.

Wash Your Hands
EAA is adding a “significant” number of sanitizing facilities and working with a variety of companies for continual disinfection.

Mask Recommended
Masks are strongly recommended when unable to social distance by six feet.

Aircraft On View
Proof of a COVID vaccination is not required to attend the event and see aircraft such as Doc, shown here.

Check Restrictions
International visitation is dependent on current international travel regulations and mandates in the U.S. and individual countries.

Spread Out
Increased physical distancing is encouraged in all areas.

Innovations Will Abound
Tickets are on sale. For the first time, youth people 18 and younger are free.

To Come…
Look for more details on new programs for low-contact procedures for admissions, camping registration, points of entry and other high-volume areas.
