Hourly Charter Rates Rise 6% In October, JetASAP Reports

JetASAP released its average hourly cost data for on-demand aircraft charter activity report for October 2023.

According to the report, October 2023 rates increased 6% overall, with turboprops seeing the largest increase of 11% to an average of $4,763 per charter operator billable flight hr. The smallest increase was found with light jets, growing 3% to an average of $7,164 per hr.

The cost to charter a midsize jet rose 6%, averaging $8,857 per billable flight hr, while super midsize jet costs increased by 4% to $11,191 per average billable flight hr. Heavy jets, meanwhile, experienced a 5% increase for occupied flight hr. to an average of $13,569 per hr.

Previously, JetASAP experienced a 5% decrease overall in September. The biggest decrease was seen in the heavy jet category, with a 6% decline in occupied flight hours to an average of $13,126 per hr.

JetASAP, based in Boca Raton, Florida, connects flyers directly to charter operators. The hourly rates are based on direct quotes from operators’ charters received through JetASAP’s platform. Rates are based on actual occupied passenger flight hours from takeoff to landing and include federal excise tax, fuel surcharges and any daily minimums, according to the company.
