HeliFlite, a private helicopter operator with service along the East Coast of the U.S., now offers charters to and from Miami’s Watson Island Seaplane Base.

Watson Island is located between downtown Miami and Miami Beach, 2 mi. and 4 mi. away from each respectively, and allows quick access to other surrounding areas including Fishers Island and the local marinas.

“We are thrilled to provide convenient access to Miami destinations for our South Florida clientele,” says Kurt Carlson, HeliFlite CEO. “The addition of Watson Island Seaplane Base allows our customers to spend less time navigating the increased traffic congestion and more time enjoying their activities.”

Service begins immediately and will be offered with HeliFlite’s six-seat Sikorsky S-76 helicopter, which can operate within a 250-mi. radius of Miami. Pricing for its most popular route, West Palm Beach to Miami, is approximately $5,400 plus tax. Other nearby cities, including Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale, also represent great demand to and from Miami, with pricing for these routes being around the same.

Apart from this corridor along the southeast coast of Florida, charter service will also be able to connect other Floridian cities to  Miami including Naples, Orlando, and The Keys. The expansion into the South Florida market follows the company’s larger presence in the northeast.
