Blackouts are prominent as carriers link frequent flyer program
Partner airlines promoting the benefits of frequent flyer links seldom mention blackout restrictions. The new American-US Airways link has such restrictions on 46 days in 1999. The US Airways-Air France link is even more restrictive - 68 days, one out of every six, are blacked out next year.
