BAE Systems Expects Increased Regional Jet, BizAv Activity
BAE Systems plans to reduce the number of idle regional jets in its inventory and also is increasingly optimistic about selling the aircraft, as corporate shuttles are expected to take off this year.
“We had a pretty upbeat year [in 2010], and we are pretty upbeat going into 2011,” says Steve Doughty, senior VP-sales and marketing asset management at BAE Systems Regional Aircraft. The company has about 27 idle BAe 146s or Avro RJs, but Doughty says that number should be lower by year-end as market activity picks up.
