The Pentagon's Defense Acquisition Board (DAB) yesterday approved first low-rate production (LRP) of the U.S. Army's Sense and Destroy (SADARM) program, setting the stage for a contract award later this year. The approval allows the Army to go ahead with its production plan which calls for Aerojet and Alliant Techsystems to jointly manufacture projectiles for the first LRP run.
