Urban air mobility startup Volocopter has launched an unmanned cargo aircraft version of its Volocopter electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing (eVTOL) air taxi. The VoloDrone demonstrator made its first flight this month. Using the battery-powered, 18-rotor drive system from the two-seat Volocopter, the VoloDrone is designed to carry a payload of up to 200 kg (440 lb.) over ranges up to 40 km (25 mi.).
