Norwegian Air Shuttle Hobbled By Pilots Strike

Norwegian Air Shuttle said the company is in a “state of emergency” due to a strike by 680 pilots of its Norwegian Air Norway subsidary, which operates all domestic routes in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, and routes between the Scandinavian countries as well as a number of flights to Europe. Norway’s national mediator met with management and union representatives on March 6 in a bid to end the dispute. Pilots want a collective bargaining agreement with the parent group instead of with its Norwegian Air Norway subsidiary. The walkout began Feb.
