Thierry Dubois has specialized in aerospace journalism since 1997. An engineer in fluid dynamics from Toulouse-based Enseeiht, he covers the French commercial aviation, defense and space industries. His expertise extends to all things technology in Europe.
“Several airframers in commercial aviation are ready to go ahead with single-pilot operations,” says a Toulouse-based professor in an aerospace engineering course. “And they are waiting for one another to go first.”
While the Future Combat Air System program is still stalled because of a disagreement between Airbus and Dassault Aviation, the French procurement agency and Dassault are hinting they have ideas for a Plan B.
