Summary

She won the World Leadership Forum’s Aerospace Journalist of the Year Awards in 2009 (propulsion category) and in 2002 (maintenance category), and has been a finalist in other years. In 2017, Lee Ann won the Aerospace Media Awards' Best Future Tech submission.

She holds a B.A. in English and political science from Luther College and an M.A. in nonfiction writing from Johns Hopkins University.

China Aviation Suppliers Import and Export Group Corp. wants to set up an aviation logistics support center in Xi'an, China, to handle aftermarket commercial aviation material for Chinese airlines (DAILY, Sept. 5). The CASGC, the China Aviation Industrial Base and AirLiance Materials signed a letter of intent on Sept. 4 to study how such a center could operate. Roscoe Musselwhite, AirLiance COO and executive VP, said AirLiance expects that a team will start formally analyzing the possibilities in October.

The Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co., Ltd. (HAECO) has added Dragonair to its list of principal customers because Cathay Pacific Airways' buyout of the regional airline eliminated the need for Dragonair's maintenance unit. Cathay Pacific Airways owns 25% of HAECO, and its parent company Swire Pacific, 28%.

Pemco Aviation Group said it is trying to lease the former US airways maintenance hangar at Tampa International Airport for its commercial aircraft maintenance and modification services division, Pemco World Air Services. The announcement trails an earlier statement that Pemco plans to sell this division to Sun Capital Partners for $43 million.
