Karen Walker is Air Transport World Editor-in-Chief and Aviation Week Network Group Air Transport Editor-in-Chief. She joined ATW in 2011 and oversees the editorial content and direction of ATW, Routes and Aviation Week Group air transport content.

Based in Washington D.C., she gained her degree in journalism in the U.K. and is a multiple winner of the Royal Aeronautical Society’s aerospace journalism awards.
She is the recipient of the Aerospace Media Awards 2021 Aerospace Writer of the Year.
GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) announced Monday an order for 40 Boeing 737s made up of 20 MAX 8s and 20 737-800s. The order, which was accounted for in Boeing’s 2013 net orders and attributed to an unidentified customer, is valued at $3.9 billion at list prices.
American Airlines Group will end year-round daily nonstop services to 17 cities from Washington National airport and three cities from New York LaGuardia as part of its regulatory requirement to divest slots at the airport.
