Germany will broaden export financing support for Airbus, according to the federal Trade Ministry. An official said however that the ministry has so far not received any Airbus applications. The manufacturer is concerned that its customers might not be able to get sufficient financing to take delivery of the planned 2009 production as banks continue to refuse handing out fresh loans to airlines. IATA Director General Giovanni Bisignani warned in an interview that Airbus and Boeing might end up not being able to deliver about half of their 2009 production.
