Summary

Jeff has been involved in aerospace journalism since the mid 1990s. Prior to joining Aviation Week, Jeff served as managing editor of Launchspace magazine and the International Space Industry Report. He has been the editor and chief of Aviation Week's Aerospace Daily & Defense Report since 2007 and has been a regular contributor to Aviation Week magazine. He received his B.A. from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va.

The commander of the 920th Rescue Wing at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida, which was involved in the Hurricane Katrina rescue effort, underscored the need for the Combat Search and Rescue-X (CSAR-X) and Combat Rescue Tanker Replacement (CRT-X) programs during a presentation July 25. "I'm a big believer in those programs," U.S. Air Force Col. Steve Kirkpatrick said during the Institute for Defense and Government Advancement's Joint Search and Rescue conference in Arlington, Va.
