After a delay of more than two decades, India’s indigenously made Tejas Light Combat Aircraft has finally been inducted into the Indian air force.

“We are proud to be the first Embraer operator in Indonesia and we look forward to enhancing our operations, especially in the Kalimantan area, with the introduction of these E195s,” Kalstar Aviation CEO Andi Masyhur says.

Avinash Chander’s contract will be terminated on Jan. 31, 15 months ahead of schedule. A defense ministry official says Chander was removed because Prime Minister Narendra Modi is incensed by inordinate delays in various DRDO projects.
