India’s first dedicated multi-wavelength space observatory, Astrosat, has been successfully launched into orbit with six foreign satellite secondary payloads.

After a delay of more than three years, India has approved the purchase of 22 AH-64D Apache Longbow attack helicopters and 15 Chinook CH-47F heavy-lift helicopters from the U.S. for the country’s air force.

The first captive flight test of the air-launched version of the supersonic BrahMos cruise missile, developed jointly by India and Russia, will be carried out by the end of this year from a Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter aircraft.
