Prior to those positions Boynton was Executive Producer-Digital for a Baltimore TV station. She began her career as an Editor with Air Transport World and SpeedNews, and was named Best Young Journalist at the 2012 Aerospace Media Awards.

Boynton graduated from McDaniel College with a B.A. in Communications and English.
