Chen Chuanren is the Southeast Asia and China Editor for Aviation Week's Air Transport World magazine and the Asia-Pacific Defense Correspondent for Aviation Week.
Prior to joining the Aviation Week team in 2017, Chuanren was a regular serviceman in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Air Defense and Operations Command. He now serves the RSAF Air Force Information Center as a reservist. He holds a Bachelor of Mass Communications as well as a Diploma in Mechatronics (Aerospace).
The COMAC C919 was not certified on Sept. 19 as had been anticipated by some, while Boeing will now remarket some 737 MAX destined for Chinese customers as Beijing keeps the type grounded.
