Chen Chuanren is the Southeast Asia and China Editor for the Aviation Week Network’s (AWN) Air Transport World (ATW) and the Asia-Pacific Defense Correspondent for AWN, joining the team in 2017.
Prior joining AWN, Chuanren was a regular serviceman in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Air Defense and Operations Command. He now serves the RSAF Air Force Information Center as a reservist. He holds a Bachelor of Mass Communications as well as a Diploma in Mechatronics (Aerospace).
The Australian and Canadian governments say Chinese fighters have intercepted and harassed their maritime patrol aircraft, with one Chinese aircraft releasing chaff that was ingested into the engines of a Royal Australia Air Force P-8 Poseidon.
