Brian Budzynski joined Aviation Week in 2024 as managing editor of Air Transport World after several years covering civil and structural engineering and surface transportation infrastructure. Brian is based in the Chicago metropolitan area; he earned his BA from Illinois State University and MA from Roosevelt University, where he won both the university's thesis prize and the Friends of American Writers Award. He received the Jesse H. Neal Award for Best Subject-Related Package in 2019, as well as more than half a dozen regional and national ASBPE Awards for Editorial Excellence.
