Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party will recommend the government buy F-35Bs and convert a helicopter carrier to operate them, the Nikkei newspaper says.
F-35Bs would be especially useful for Taiwan because China is able to rain air-to-surface, cruise and short-range ballistic missiles on the island’s runways.
