The recent chairman of Chinese airport operator Capital Airports Holding Co., Zhang Zhizhong, has been arrested, while a group of China Southern Airlines employees have also been detained over an apparently unrelated matter. Zhang is accused of taking a bribe in return for arranging a monopoly on a popular air route for a travel agency 10 years ago, before he took over at the airport company. Capital Airports Holding belongs to the CAAC.
