Already an avionics supplier, Collins now has been contracted to provide temperature and pressure controls for both pilot and equipment on board, and is to use an out-of-autoclave process to manufacture flight-control surfaces for the aircraft.
Pilots will have to be trained to operate the ageing Tornado platform for at least another decade. But investment in training has not kept pace with the many changes made to the platform.
