Adrian was previously based in Aviation Week’s Washington office for nine years, writing for a range of the group’s publications and covering many aspects of the commercial aviation industry. He has won Australasian and international awards for his aviation writing.

Prior to joining Aviation Week in 2002, Adrian covered aviation industry and policy issues for two other publishing companies in Washington. He has also worked for newspapers in Texas and New Zealand, covering a wide range of topics. Adrian graduated from Auckland University with a degree in history and English in 1992.

Philippines-based Cebu Pacific Air is planning capital expenditures of $350 million next year, which will support the airline’s fleet growth plans. The planned spending for next year, which was revealed to local media by airline executives, would represent an increase from the $300 million capital expenditure projected for 2013. Cebu says the 2014 spending is largely related to aircraft deliveries.

Cathay Pacific Airways has completed the final phase of its transition to a new cargo facility at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), as part of a major investment the carrier is making in its freight operations. The move to the new HK$5.9 billion ($760 million) cargo facility has been phased since the facility opened in February. It is expected to increase HKIA’s overall cargo capacity 50%.
