Boeing has delivered its 1,500th 747—a 747-8 Intercontinental—to Lufthansa. This is Lufthansa’s 14th 747-8I it will incorporate into its long-haul fleet. According to Boeing, the 747 is the first widebody aircraft in history to reach the 1,500 milestone. At a June 28 delivery ceremony, a special logo commemorating the 1,500th aircraft was revealed for the first time. Lufthansa was the747-8I launch customer and took delivery of its first of the type in April 2012. The Frankfurt-based airline has 19 747-8Is on order.
