Asia/Pacific Airlines Group Courting Chinese Carriers
The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) is talking with Chinese carriers about joining the 17-member trade association, whose members jointly carry 290 million passengers and 10 million tons of cargo or about one-fifth of global passenger traffic and one-third of global air cargo traffic.
“China certainly meets the criteria, and we feel there is a strong role in the international stage for a regional association,” Andrew Herdman, director general, told The DAILY at the Asian Aerospace conference in Hong Kong.
