Asia-Pacific airline CEOs have talent

Former IATA director general Tony Tyler liked to say that airline CEOs give their commitment to the global association, but their hearts to their regional associations. Nowhere is that more apparent than at the annual meeting of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA), which was held in Manila last week and displayed the region’s airline executive talent in more ways than one.

On the final gala dinner night, following an entertainment program of Filipino artists, the stage turned into an impromptu karaoke session after Malaysia Airlines group CEO Peter Bellew took the mic and proved to have quite the singing voice.

After that, execs AAPA’s 16 airline members lost their bashfulness and took singing turns. Philippine Airlines president and CEO Jaime Bautista even brought up a group that he called the “Bad Boy Band”.

Irishman Bellew’s rendition of Stand by Me was impressive take a look at this video. The man has talent!
