American Eagle's 1998 enplanements topped most flag carriers'

American Eagle's jump to 13 million passenger enplanements in 1998 puts it ahead of most of the world's flag carriers. Eagle flew more people last year than Singapore, Swissair, Varig, Cathay Pacific or Air China did in 1997.
