Airbus Reshuffles Executive Ranks Promotes Champion To COO
Airbus made significant changes to its executive committee, shifting key players in the wake of Gerard Blanc's departure (DAILY, July 18) and Gustav Humbert's appointment as CEO.
Blanc, formerly executive VP-operations, decided to quit last week after he was passed over for the CEO post in favor of Humbert (DAILY, June 24). Blanc had been with Aerospatiale and Airbus for 38 years and was considered by many as a strong figure that could have led the manufacturer through A380 production ramp-up and initial A350 development.
