Alitalia will relaunch in June with a reduced fleet of around 90 aircraft, Italy’s economic development minister Stefano Patuanelli told a parliamentary hearing April 23.
Ministers and the special administrators running Alitalia have been attempting to find a way forward for the airline since it filed for bankruptcy three years ago. After the carrier was hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis, Italy decided there was no option but to nationalize the airline.
