Strata opens its doors to international aviation community
UAE aero structures manufacturer Strata hosted more than 100 key aerospace suppliers from around the world to update them on the progress being made at the composite aero-structures manufacturing facility and share details of future plans and strategies.
This event comes ahead of important milestone announcements due to be made later this year.
As well as suppliers from the UAE, companies from major markets around the world - including France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom - attended the forum. STRATA shared details of the company’s growth strategy as it gears up to increase production capability at the plant.
Delegates were also engaged in a number of important discussions around business development and given a guided tour of the facilities. The company is wholly owned by Mubadala, the Abu Dhabi-based investment and development company, and is part of Mubadala Aerospace, the organization’s business unit responsible for establishing Abu Dhabi as an integrated global aerospace hub.
Homaid Al Shemmari, Executive Director Mubadala Aerospace and Chairman of STRATA, who launched the morning’s discussions by giving an overview of Mubadala Aerospace, said: “Establishing an aerospace industry in the Emirate is an important part of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and I’m proud that we’re able to attract leading suppliers from around the world to STRATA. These partners are critical to supporting our vision of building an integrated knowledge-driven Aerospace hub in Abu Dhabi. It is sustainable businesses, such as STRATA that are helping to deliver opportunities for skilled UAE nationals, something that is at the heart of Mubadala’s mission.”
Other presentations given during the day provided an overview of the aero-structures business and its growth ambitions. With agreements in place with companies such as EADS / Airbus the discussions also emphasized the substantial opportunities available for STRATA’s suppliers.
Ross Bradley, CEO of STRATA, said; “The performance of our suppliers is critical to the success of STRATA, so it was always our intention to invite these key partners to Al Ain as soon as we had the plant operational. We’re really pleased at the response we have had. The event today has given us the opportunity to share our vision with suppliers as well as highlight the opportunities available to them as they support the growth of the aviation industry in Abu Dhabi.
“This is certainly an exciting time for us, with STRATA ready to expand its business capabilities. The suppliers’ conference is just the beginning, and we plan on making further important announcements in the coming months,” Ross Bradley added.
Following a series of discussions, guests were taken on an exclusive tour of STRATA’S Al Ain Plant, making them the first group of international industry visitors to be given an access-all-areas tour of the facility.
