South Africa's SkyWise suspends operations indefinitely

Skywise has suspended operations indefinitely after it was unable to reach a compromise with the Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) over the payment of outstanding debts, reports ch-aviation.

ACSA has twice banned SkyWise from using any of its airports - first in October then earlier this month - after the budget carrier failed to settle fee arrears on time.

Since then, the airline has struggled to resume active commercial operations even going so far as to offer 1,500 company shares valued at ZAR100 000 (USD6,961) each to interested parties in a bid to raise ZAR150 million (USD10.07 million).
