Singapore Changi Airport: Asia-Pacific’s Premier Gateway

Asia-Pacific continues to be a strategically important region for aviation, and Singapore Changi Airport remains committed to working closely with airline partners in an increasingly volatile global landscape. Changi Airport’s connectivity, world-class passenger experiences and facilities, coupled with Singapore's appeal as a tourist destination, make it an ideal choice for airlines seeking to expand their presence in the region and beyond.

A Hub Positioned for Growth

As one of Asia’s most connected international aviation hubs, Changi Airport links Singapore to over 170 cities globally through a network of 100 airlines. In 2025, 14 of Changi Airport’s top 15 routes are to destinations within the Asia-Pacific region, underscoring its commitment to serving the needs of this fast-growing market. The airport also introduced several new routes across China and Southeast Asia, reflecting ongoing efforts to broaden its network within Asia and reinforce Changi’s position as a leading regional hub. Working hand in hand with airline partners, Changi continues to actively expand connectivity to both established and emerging secondary cities, enabling airlines to capture new market opportunities and respond to evolving travel demand across the region.

A Long-Term Vision for the Future of Air Travel

Strengthening Changi Airport’s long-term hub capacity remains a key priority for Changi Airport Group, underpinned by strong confidence in the Asia-Pacific region’s aviation growth potential. Central to this vision is the Changi East development, anchored by the future Terminal 5, which will significantly expand the airport’s capacity and reinforce Singapore’s position as a leading global aviation hub. In its first phase, Terminal 5 will be able to handle about 50 million passenger movements per year and is expected to be operational around the mid-2030s.

Following the groundbreaking in May 2025, development works for Terminal 5 and the broader Changi East project are progressing steadily. In the next few years, construction activities will scale up progressively, laying the foundations for the next generation of airport facilities designed to support long-term growth for airline partners.

Singapore: A Vibrant Destination

Singapore, a vibrant metropolis and cultural melting pot, offers dynamic experiences for every traveller. Its appeal as a tourist destination plays a crucial role in driving passenger demand.

Iconic attractions like Jewel Changi Airport have transformed the airport experience, making Changi Airport a destination in itself. The stunning Jewel Rain Vortex, the world's tallest indoor waterfall cascading through a lush, multi-level indoor garden, has captivated millions of travellers. Beyond its visual appeal, Jewel boasts a diverse range of offerings from aviation facilities to play attractions as well as retail and dining, further enhancing its draw.

Ongoing developments across the city-state continue to strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading destination for both leisure and business travellers. Asia’s first Disney Cruise Line ship to be homeported in Singapore, the Disney Adventure, officially set sail on its maiden voyage in March 2026. Looking ahead, Gardens by the Bay will expand with Wetlands By The Bay, a new 5-hectare attraction opening in 2028, featuring Singapore’s first indoor‑outdoor teamLab experience and over 600 mangroves. Complementing this, Marina Bay Sands has announced plans for a US$8 billion ultra-luxury development, including a 570‑suite hotel, 200,000 square feet of premium MICE facilities, and a 15,000‑seat arena, setting new benchmarks for world-class hospitality and entertainment.

As a premier gateway to the region, Changi Airport welcomes the opportunity to work with both new and existing airlines seeking to expand in the booming Asia-Pacific region. We invite you to partner with us and be a part of the exciting future of aviation in Asia-Pacific.
