Senegal introduces replacement for Senegal Airlines
Senegal has developed a new national carrier to replace Senegal Airlines, Air Senegal.
Transport and Tourism Minister, Maimouna Ndoye Seck, has said the carrier will be provided with CFA40 billion ($69 million) of state funds to allow for operations to begin quickly.
The carrier will also set up a ground handling company and a maintenance division.
Seck also said CFA100 billion will be made available after a “strong strategic partner” is found.
She aims for Air Senegal to operate the first commercial flights from Blaise Siagne International Airport.
