Qatar Airways slashes fuel surcharge price

Qatari flag carrier Qatar Airways has reduced its fuel surcharge throughout its global network.

The move reflects a more stable oil price. Chief executive Akbar Al Bakar explained: “Qatar Airways’ fuel surcharges have been significantly lower than those of other airlines. We have absorbed a large percentage of the increase in fuel prices in the past, passing very little onto the consumer.

“In response to the recent reduction in oil and jet fuel prices, we are now pleased to lower the fuel surcharge substantially in our network, which demonstrates our commitment to the travelling public by offering highly competitive prices.”
