Private airlines form Ethiopian Private Airlines Association

Thirteen private airlines in Ethiopia have formed the 'Ethiopian Private Airlines Association' (EPAA) to work with the Ministry of Transport, Ethiopian Civil Authority and Ethiopian Airports Enterprise.

The association will help the airlines lobby for aviation industry players and deal with the federal government in aim to improve aviation safety and security.
“This association will help private operators to exchange information among themselves and report security concerns to the relevant government bodies. We shall discuss policy issues and take matters that hinder the development of general aviation in Ethiopia to the concerned government bodies,” said Abera Lemi, CEO, National Airways.
Other nations have established airline associations, with Ethiopia having previously lagged behind in this aspect.
