Onur's replacement programme underway with four Airbus deal

Turkey's Onur Air has made a decision over its fleet rightsizing.

The carrier was said for some time to be considering regional jets as well as narrowbodies to meet changing needs as well as replacing its ageing MD-80 aircraft this year.

Yesterday the company said it is to buy an Airbus A321 as the first of the restructured fleet but also said it is to add three Airbus A330-300s, which will begin operations as early as April

The 350-seat widebodies will be used for charter operations in Turkey during the busy summer season, before being deployed on Hajj pilgrimage services to Saudi Arabia.
