Nigerian Government up security to prevent future riots from angry passengers
The Nigerian Government has told passengers that infiltration of the runway at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by angry Turkish Airlines passengers will not happen again.
It has also said that airport security should not be left in the hands of the government, that National Mirror has reported.
Yakubu Dati, Authority of Nigeria, FAAN has said that the airport authority has heightened security to prevent a similar incident occurring again.
“We have been able to deploy security and officers on duty have also gone to inspire other officers to be alive to their responsibilities. We discovered that most of the angry passengers passed through an opening in the carousel area. We have fortified that area so it would not be porous again for people to use,” said Dati.
Dati has requested that the public cooperate with the government in order to fight insurgency.
