Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority suspends Bristow helicopter
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended Bristow Helicopter's SikorskyS-76C++ from operation following accident last week, AllAfrica reports.
The aircraft crashed into the Atlantic Ocean with 11 people on board, who were rescued by the Nigerian Navy.
The SikorskyS-76C++ has been suspended until further notice pending an audit.
Multiple incidents have happened on SikorskyS-76C++s on the costal waters of Lagos in the past six months.
Director general of the NCAA, Captain Muhtar Usman, said: "These decisions are without prejudice to the investigations being conducted by the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB). As a matter of fact, it will serve to assist the entire process. The Authority will fully support AIB in the investigation.”
