Air Mauritius confirmed an order for three Airbus A350s on the first day of the Paris Air Show, bringing its fleet to a total of seven of the type. The aircraft will be used to expand its network in Europe and South Asia. The Mauritius flag carrier already operates four A350s and four A330s.

Air Mauritius CEO Kresimir Kucko said the additional A350-900s will help strengthen the airline’s European network and secure further growth in other markets.

Air Mauritius announced earlier this year that it plans to move operations from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to London Gatwick Airport (LGW), with daily operations from Oct. 29, 2023. The national airline will boost its frequency from 5X-weekly flights to a daily service to LGW using a mix of A350-900s and A330-900neos.
