Kenya Airways investigated over rise in airfare
Kenya Airways is to be investigated by the Liberian government, after it increased airfare between Monrovia and Accra, Daily National reports
The Liberian government are investigating the rise in prices after receiving complaints from travellers on the route, although it announced the investigation is into other airlines, Kenya Airways was the only airline to be singled out.
The website for the Liberian Ministry of Transport says: “The Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority, has commenced an investigation into a recent increase in the cost of air ticket by various airlines operating in Liberia.”
The website goes on to say that Felix Wambua, Kenya Airlines country manager, has agreed to provide them with the relevant information.
The investigation adds to the problems already faced by Kenya Airways, after it posted a vast amount of loss in the last financial year.
It was indicated by Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich that the government wishes for a change in Kenya Airways’ management and board following the financial loss.
