Jomo Kenyatta International Airport awarded most improved airport

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) has been voted the most improved airport in Africa at the Airports Council International Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards.

The award was announced on Monday, and the airport won out of 300 contenders.
“JKIA has grown significantly in recent years with increased passengers and cargo traffic. We expect further growth going forward as more capacity is unlocked by on-going works, which will improve level of service, security and controlled access to meet international standards, thus taking advantage of its strategic location to position JKIA as the premier aviation hub of Africa,” said Kenya Airports Authority’s (KAA), acting managing director, Yatich Kangugo.
KAA has said that the airport is constructing arrivals at Terminal 1A (T1A) and Terminal E (T1E), which should be open this month.
The award comes after the opening of the airports Terminal 2, which caters for both international and domestic departures and arrivals.
