Jazeera's on time performance and market share impresses in latest DGCA report

Kuwaiti low cost carrier Jazeera Airlways has continued to grow market share according to the latest report issued by Kuwait's Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The low cost carrier has continued to lead in market share over other Kuwaiti airlines on popular winter routes that were served in January 2011.

The report from the DGCA does not include the Kuwait-Jeddah and Kuwait-Riyadh routes, where the airline has lower seat-allocation restrictions compared to other Kuwaiti airlines.

Jazeera grabbed a 28% market share on the Kuwait-Beirut route, a 35% market share on the Kuwait-Amman route, a 46% market share on the Kuwait-Alexandria route, a 40% market share on the Kuwait-Damascus route.

The report also showed that Jazeera was the largest Kuwaiti operator on business and weekend destinations as well, capturing a 14% market share on the Kuwait-Dubai route, and 19% market share on the Kuwait-Bahrain route.

The report also showed that Jazeera. operated the month with an on-time performance of 93%, making it one of the most punctual airlines in the Middle East.
